According to the workshop manual, you have to take off the inlet manifold to get at them. I'm a V6 man so can't say whether this is true or not.

Ive just changed all 4 glow plugs each one was black and sooty, tested them and all 4 had gone.Hopefully this should solve my slow starting.Had to take the inlet manifold off to get to them, was unable to put new seals on wasnt able to get any ,was told they was on backorder.Started it up and drove no air leaks.

I thought we only had 3 glow plugs, the 4th being a sensor
You haven't chucked away a sensor ?

Four in the manual.
Think it's L series that only has 3? |

That's the beauty of this forum, one learns something new every day
Must have been thinking about the L series which was in my previous car Guess I'll have to look at them sometime.... still working OK on mine at the moment.
