Replacement parking sensor looms – 2nd group buy
Following the success of the first group buy, my intention was to hold a few looms in stock at a time for one off buys, however there seems to be enough interest for me to warrant running a second group buy. So here it is.
What do I get? What you will be getting is a direct plug and play replacement PDC loom with improved soldered joints which are appropriately weatherproofed with adhesive filled heatshrink. You will also be supplied with 6 fir tree zip ties which you can use to secure the loom to the bumper foam inserts In the OE manner. Saloon vs Tourer The looms are compatible with all saloons and tourers from 2002 onwards (VIN 245554 onwards). When ordering please specify if you have a saloon or tourer since the looms differ in lengths between these models. I can't currently build looms for cars prior to this since the body connector changed and I don't yet have a pin-out for it. What it will cost? The looms are priced at £35 including first class P&P. I’m happy to ship outside the UK, but the following surcharges will apply to cover increased postage costs. Delivery outside the UK will be 5-10 days.
The looms take me a about an hour to assemble, so given the likely interest it could take me a month or more to get all the looms built and shipped once I have all the parts in stock. I will be assembling these in what little spare time I have so please be patient with me. I will keep this thread updated as I go. Do I get a warranty? I will provide a 12 month warranty on all looms I produce which will be effective from the date of shipment. I will operate this on a return and replacement basis to keep things simple. How do I get one? I will need an up-front non-refundable deposit of £15 to contribute towards the cost of the parts I need to order in bulk; I will take the balance of payment once looms are built and ready to ship. Therefore if you want a loom, please start list below and include whether you want one for a tourer or a saloon. I’ll drop everyone a PM with my bank details to transfer the deposit. Bank transfer is preferred but I’m happy to discuss other options on a case by case basis. I will keep this group buy open until the end of January, after which you’ll have to wait for the initial orders to be completed before I can take further orders. Questions? If you have any questions, please post them in this thread and I’ll answer as best I can. Last edited by tomcattom; 20th January 2015 at 07:11.. |

Hi Tom,
I have an early 2004 mk1 saloon. How involved is the install procedure for the parking sensors? Does this loom just plug in somewhere on all cars (bearing in mind that my car has suffered extensively from Project Drive)? Is T4 required? Is the only other requirement the 4 OEM sensor units? Sorry for my ignorance and all the questions, but if the install is fairly straightforward, you can definitely put me down a saloon loom. Cheers. |

Hi,
Would you have enough parts to make a second one? I need to replace one sensor so makes sense to sort the loom at whist the bumper is off 😀 Cheers, Mark S. |

humphshumphs & Data,
I can make looms for both of you. Can you both please PM me with the following details:
For anyone else that wants a loom, I'm now out of stock of components to make any further looms once these two are sent. I will take a look at the pricing for making smaller quantities to see if it is feasible going forwards and I will create a new thread to advertise them if the pricing is sensible. |
