Default Drivers side Impace Sensor - Part No and Source

Hi,

It seems the casue of my airbag warning lights being on for the last year is due to the driver side impace sensor have got corroded.

Does anyone know what it actually looks like, its part number and where to source a replacement.

Regards

Mike

I know what it looks like, it lives under the carpet adjacent to the door sill, and I've got 2 for sale from my car that I've broken......

I can't tell you the part number off hand, but they are VIN dependant.

VIN Dependant !!! Does that mean Engine Management/programming needs to be done, or is it the case that there are specific ones for various batches of Cars made!

Its just the guy who serviced the car this morning, who has a T1 diagnostic machine, said if I can source a drives side one , he'll be able remove the seat and fit it for me.

You have'nt got a passenger side inner CV joint for a 2.5l 75 ???..........as the consensus on my wobbling seems to point to worn inner cv joint!!!

I think the other type is if you have A pillar airbags - not 100% sure though

The easy way to tell is the green one is without A pillar airbags and the orange one is with A pillar airbags

Presumably this means the drive shaft. These are constantly on Ebay (new) for £75 a side but don't know if they are engine type specific.

Angry

Well have managed to get the part number for the correct impact sensor (this is the true cause of the airbag warning light being on constantly) and a frightening price for it as well...........

YWJ101340 IMPACT SENSOR - £123.43

...............if anyone has a contact that source a secondhand one it would be appreciated, along with a photo of what it actually looks like.

Mike

Wink

Thanks Greeners, these prices for bits and pieces are now beginning to get scary, its getting to the point that there are so many sensors and components on the 75 that affect basic performance I am beginning to become concerned. When the Cam Sensor developed a fault last year I wasnt able to go anywhere for long and couldnt understand why she wouldnt start after a short journey. Its a pity the car wasnt built with a t1 or t4 and display so at least you could be told where the root cause of the problems are. I still love the old beast in any event and want her in perfect mechanical condition.
