Default CDT PCV Filter @ 84k miles

Thought I'd share this with you.

Well maintained car, serviced on the button..

Yummy

Still, its been doing its job. Check out the difference in size though!

Just done this and changed my air filter. Lost two allen keys in the process but managed to retrieve one frm the undertray!

Just putting off the topmount job really

Do you have to buy the whole unit? I thought the filter (oil separator in BMW-speak) was available for about twelve quid, and I assumed this was just the sponge bit.

Can you clarify, please? (being POSB, I just washed and dried mine well and put it back)

Thanks

Nope

You can buy the filtery bit on its own from Beemer

I bought the lot since I get a discount so paid only a bit more than the filter price

I dont think it counts for much. they are light blue and oil is black. I replaced mine - hugely dirty, only to wonder why it had an 07 date stamp... and realised it had been done by the last owner 300 miles earlier...!

They will of course change Colour to Black very Quickly,
But its when it swells and Blocks you need it changing.
Why it is not on the service sheet I don't know, it is on the BMW 320D service sheet.

I changed mine recently too and took photos.

I had also cleaned the filter thoroughly about a thousand or so miles ago so it doesn't look too bad at the change.
