Default Just thought id pop in and say hello

Hi
Its been quite a while since ive been here. You may remember me from a few years back!
Life took a change for the worst and had to adapt to it.
Anyway the good news is ive still got my trusty Rover 75 after all these years and touch wood its still running as great today as it ever was. Ive had a couple of little hiccups along the way but nothing serious. Its past many an mot without any advisories apart from this year just gone with the front tyres getting close to there limits and slight corrosion of break pipes. This is all in hand and will get sorted after Christmas
Apart from that its just been general run of the mill maintenance to keep in in fine fettle. I can't believe it's still in its original exhaust. 19 years old and 125k on the clock!!
I was expecting it drop off years ago lol.
Anyway hope your all well and wish all a Merry Christmas and Happy New year.
All the best
Johnny 👍

Thanks for the warm welcome.
The Forum has changed slightly and I'm still finding my way around lol.
As said before this car of mine has been utterly reliable over the last few years. I've owned a few cars over the years, and can hand on heart say the old rover has been the best by a long mile. I still look back at it every time i lock it even now. I can't believe how suspicious i was of them and the horror stories when i first bought it. They've all been over published and gave me a few concerns but over the years they proved me wrong. I used to get alot of stick from my work mates for own one. A bit like the old Lada jokes but ive now gained respect as there new modern cars dropped to pieces.
I've also noticed over the last year how other Zt/75 owners give my the customary wave as they pass by.
A sure sign there becoming a niche and rarer sight on our roads. Since life has changed i tend not to use the car so much nowadays. I used to average around 15k a year but i only do around 8k now

Ive sometimes thought about selling it (shock horror) as its way to big for my needs realistically but i just cannot part with it. I look at the modern stuff, but to me they just don't have that certain quality or endearing style the 75 has.
I have however replaced my driving habits though with a new form of transport. Ive become a keen cyclist and think nothing of cycling 100 miles a day. This year so far i covered nearly 6 thousand miles. Ive dropped from 15,st to 12.5, st and feel so much better for it.
Anyway im rabbiting on abit now so it's time for me to shut up!! :=)

Hi John. Nice to see you are still really in the 75/ZT fold. I wondered how you were going on after your problems. Nice that you have kept the faith with your car. Still got mine, now on 107,000 plus. Bought my sons 2.5V6 Connie SE in September and want to get that done up and on the road next year. Have a merry Christmas.

Hi David.
Great to hear from you buddy. Hope you keeping well. It seems like a long time since we last spoke. It's good to see your still a proud owner and you're son too.
All very best to you, and promise i won't be a stranger any more.

You will have to see if you have time to come down to The Four Ashes Meets we have. I am certain you will not only enjoy the banter, but if you have anything not oil related that you want doing you may be ale to get it done. We have quite a few cars that attend, a lot on a regular basis from a lot further than your home town. It would also be nice to see you. They start again next year in March.
