Which 'bangers' do you think will go up in value
As the title says, which sub 2k cars do you think will start to go up in value over the next 5 to 10 years? I know any old car in good condition starts to go up in value as it gets older as it will be rare, but I want to know what you think will soar like the mk1 / mk2 escort?
Couple from me to start, assuming vgc Z3, more so with bigger engines Mk1 MX-5 Ford Puma Ford Fiesta ST Gordon

Isn't it funny that any fast Ford of a little or more age will shoot up in value - cars such as the Lotus Cortina, Escort Mexico's, Cosworths, etc.
But, any fast Rover or even MG always stays at a moderate price comparatively. Rover and MG had pedigree in racing. Is it just that Ford had a better marketing department and so are seen as more "enthusiast" cars? |

Hi.
I should have kept my BMW 2002Tii, BMW 2000 touring, Commer Imp van, Skoda 1000mb delux, 1960 VW 1200 and a project 1960 Citroen 2CV 425 cc AZL. Could be quite well off now.

I reckon Ford Fiesta Zetec S of the late 90s/early 2000s, Impreza Turbos are already rising, Jaguar XJR (X300), good MG ZT 190s, early Land Rover Discoveries, Peugeot 106 Rallye, Citroen Saxo VTR/VTS, Honda Integra Type R, Mazda MX-5, and a few others, are where I'd be putting my money. Not all cars I like, but all will become more valuable.
Basically anything which is popular with boy racers, if you can find a posh, or sporty model, in unmodified condition, you are onto a winner.

Got rid of an ISETTA BUBBLE CAR in the mid 1970's, it was in really good solid condition and I struggled to get £25.00 for it.
If only it was still tucked away at the back of the garage ..... |

Cracking motor, loads of fun to drive as was the Montego Turbo. Shame they rusted as bad as the old Fords. Then again a lot of cars of that era suffered with the old tin worm.
I hope you're right about the Z3s Gordon, I've got a low mileage 2.2 Sport under the carport which I'm going to be tidying up/ refreshing when I've finished some of my other projects.
