This is also a highly unofficial way of removing baked-on carbon from the gas parts of the General Purpose Machine Gun. If it works on that, which it does, brilliantly in fact, it'll work on your manifold. Other brands are indeed available, but don't bother, go with the real deal. It works.

Had a quick shufty to see why the low brake pad warning light has been coming on the last couple of days, brake pads thick enough but found the sensor wiring to the front brake pad has broken and so looks like the wires are shorting together.

Will order a new one later and that will be an easy enough fix, job for another day along with investigating where the exhaust is knocking since I had to have a replacement cat fitted.

Just passed 75k miles as well.

Join the wires next to the plug for the sensor, and never worry about it again. It lives in the engine bay next to the off side strut mount.

Decided to give Copperleaf a good cleaning this morning, started by cleaning the plenum, dry. Checked all fluids, ok. Checked tyres all pressures correct, had 2 new tyres on rear last month, but fronts now down to about 3mm and despite having about 5 months left on DOT code are cracking in between tread, need changing soon. Cleaned all the glass inside, and vacuumed carpets.Then pressure washed with Demon snow foam, cleaned with turtle wax, pressure washed again, given a good coating of Demon shine. Wheels done with Wonder wheels. Stood back and looked at what a Rover 75 car should look like. Finished about 4pm.
Opened first can of John Smiths!

If the weather is OK in the morning, will do the same to Moonstone.

I don't really see the point in doing that when I can repair it properly.

Cos' you don't need them, any self respecting petrolhead checks the brakes regularly.

What wheels does your car have fitted?

The only reason I ask, is I've yet to see a ZT where it isn't possible to view the brake pad condition through the wheels when you clean the car.

All of mine have 11 spokes fitted, and every one without exception have the brake pad wear indicators linked out, because there is no substitute for the Mk1 Eyeball

P.S. I replaced a NSR caliper for a local member earlier this month, the pads were less than 1mm thick, but had at least 7mm on the offside..........wear indicators in this case would not have save the day, in fact come to think of it, I've never needed these type of gimmicks on any car I've ever owned, nor have any suffered a "metal to metal" incident
