Hi Steve. Looks as though one of the calliper pistons is sticking one pad is thinner than the other one.

If it was then now it's moving freely usually if the piston is sticking it would most likely be the rear back pad that clips into the piston, this one was the front, but have no fear they will never get down to that again, the ones o took off the MGZT recently were only changed because I like to change them every 18 months, here they are below I pegged for Delph this time round to see how they fair. As I say they did not need changing really on the MGZT

I fitted Pagid on the rear and aDelphi on the front, and so far had no trouble with them. The braking is good with them also..
I must say that the coating on the Pagid disc’s is a good idea, helps stop the rusty appearance. The disc face for braking is also not ridging like I have noticed on some. I don’t know if it is caused by mixing disc’s and different make pads. I found that the original pads, Rover, were very dusty in operation, and made your wheels filthy. These don’t seem to be as dusty. Also like you, I bend my back and inspect them for wear, not wait until I hear a squeal before I do anything.

Red Nov
Fitted Unipart front discs today along with genuine Rover brake pads, I had the choice of Rover or Unipart pads I went with Rover ones as that is what I fitted to the rear yesterday.
1 2 3 4 5 disc off and they do not look to bad to be honest. 6 Then again put it next to the Unipart one 7 At least 3mm difference in thickness 8 9 wire brush the back plate also in good condition for it's age. 10 Fit new disc 11 Had a choice of brake pads Unipart or Rover went with the later. 12 13 14 Both sides sorted out so new discs & pads all round. 15 Slowly getting there. as all filters have been changed manifold, PCV, MAP, inline stat, SSC, gold resistor new PCB fan board, under tray fixings lots been done this week, good belts on it so those are ok for now. 16 Start again tomorrow cleaning the upper rear arms which are in good nick, this car as been showed some TLC and it will now get better Special post tomorrow cheers Arctic.

Looks like you used a small screwdriver to get the old one off - flat steel is less likely to damage anything. Ground down old bits of hacksaw blades, both large and small work well.

Finally managed to find the time to fit the new bonnet kindly supplied (and delivered) by KeithA fitted with the help of Andy (Trikey). The old wasn't bad but had a couple of niggly issues which annoyed me everytime i saw them so thanks to you both
Now just the nearside front door to change over and most of the little cosmetic issues will be done but of course the 'to do' list still has lots on it .. lol .. Such are the joys of 75 ownership
