What a rubbish way of changing qualification, Right answer (Hamilton P1), wrong approach. Hope FIA try something different next race

Nah, that qualifying format simply did not work, where was the excitement, grabbing pole with the final lap before the flag? Over three minutes remaining and everybody has their feet up, no cars on the track.

That Quali format is absolute rubbish, They must change that surely! If I'd paid $200Aus for a ticket to watch them stay in their garages I'd be more than a bit miffed.

Teams are to discuss changes to qualifying after the race on Sunday, all agreed today's effort was a fail and it's abandoned already see BBC news here

We should go back to these days. Here is Keke Rosberg at Imola in 1979 with his entire pit crew. Racing was so much more exiting before the advent of data and huge pit crews. The glorious DFV, the BMW 1500 turbo producing over 1000 bhp in qualifying. I know we can't go back but today's racing is like watching paint dry some weeks. Now we have to suffer adverts on C4 which will detract no matter what they say. On RTL in Germany they keep showing the race in one corner of the screen while the ads are on.
