Default Iphone 3GS DIY repairs?

I bought an Ipod Touch a few years ago and was quite impressed, but found it was severally limited in functionality compared to a phone version, so it sat on the shelf.

Feeling a bit bored and despite resolving not to buy yet another phone, I bought a used Iphone 3GS with an issue - ear speaker faulty, which I could work around. When it turned up, it actually had three issues in total, the ear speaker, the camera not working and the silence switch. I have resolved it with the ebay seller by way of a partial refund, but now I'm wondering about delving into it, to see if I could fix it.

It strikes me that all of these items are in around the same area and as the screen looks fairly new, it might have been replaced and at the same time upsetting the other three things.

Anyone any thoughts or experience on delving into such things please?

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
