Default Replacement wheels for Rover 75

I have a 2005 Rover 75 2.0 CDT Connoisseur automatic. I am about to refresh it and the alloys are not good. They are the fork type - they were refurbished a while ago but maybe not the best preparation.
I am thinking to buy new. I do not understand the size limitations that I can go to and whether to buy as for the ZT.
I am put off the idea of refurbishing the current alloys BUT maybe this is a potential still with the correct refurbishment company.
Any advice, thoughts or comments will be very helpful. Thanks.

Welcome Frank, good to see you're in the forums.

A good quality refurb will cost less than buying new - in fact you'll probably be able to get them refurbed several times for the equivalent money. Plus, you won't have to worry about calculating the rolling radius or an aftermarket wheel having a different offset.

You mentioned your wheels are the fork type - I'm not sure which style this is, but if you click here you will be able to see the different wheels available and their respective names. Just scroll down the page and you'll see them appear as you go (they're dotted about a bit so you may need to keep scrolling!).

Not forgetting of course that aftermarket alloys should be declared to your insurance company who will very likely load your premium. Refurbished original alloys need not be declared.

Frank, did Robbie get that wiring diagram from you?

I was busy with a ZT190 ECM programming at the side of a busy road, and couldn't really assist from afar

Following your thread I've checked the official name for my just purchase 'new' wheels are the '15" Y-spoke type'. Thises will probably go on a 2001 Club tourer. Presumably as these are official Rover and not aftermarket wheels sucj changes need not be declared to the insurance company as the Rover buyer at the time had a big choice on what items could be fitted as standard or optional extras.

Have to admit that if I owned a Mk 2 75, I would fit it with a set of Star Spokes in Liquid Silver, or if I was feeling rich, a set of Vortex's.

Hi Brian - Yes, All appears well! He now has the car starting regularly but wants to do some further checking before we assume all is OK for our UK trip.
Your magic has worked yet again. I am busy ordering a few things to pick up in the UK so that I can get the Rover looking gorgeous again. My wife thinks it would be good for her and leave me with our Jag S-Type!!!!!
If you think you can come across that little pyramid sun sensor it would be great. Many Thanks again

Thanks Pete - the link was very useful - my wheels are described in there as the 16" fork spoked alloys. I will hunt around over here (Hungary) for refurbishment - I know there are people doing a professional job in our area.
Do you happen to know if I can interchange on size? Noting the insurance question. Many Thanks

Wow!!! Are those other items things you have bestowed on your car? I bet it is in top condition. Thanks for the mention on the insurance side - very important. I will look for a good refurbisher. Hope Father Xmas brings you lots of nice car bits!

Whoo Hoo !!! There's an idea - may not leave much for Xmas. BUT I am seriously thinking of having another set and keep the current forks for winter - so that idea has value - Thanks Christopher
