Question INOX W4 64-67mm stainless steel clip

I can't find any/much info on this clip so I don't know if it's just for motorbike exhausts or if it can be used on cars as well. It's pretty chunky (25mm wide) and is more like the 'sleeve' type shown on Rimmers page than the standard U clamp type shown here.

The U clamp does have two threads though (against the Inox's one).

NB. INOX W4 is what's stamped into the metal.

Think of that t-bolt clamp as a stronger jubilee clip, perfect for hoses like silicon induction pipework but unsuitable for exhausts in my opinion. The generic exhaust clamps are better suited and cheaper.
Don't forget an aftermarket system will slide over an existing section, your not looking to join two pipes with the same outside diameter (generally speaking)

I've used Mikalor clamps on exhausts for years without issue, and further more you can separate the pipework if required unlike using U bolt type clamps, which distort the tube

Much cheaper HERE

I've cut the original exhaust behind the cat, leaving about 2.5" of pipe for the new centre section to slide onto. The reason I was for looking at the INOX is (if it works) it'll clamp a much wider section than the U clamp - approx 1" vs 0.3", - so in theory it'll provide a better seal. Plus, as Brian says below, U clamps distort the tube.

Crikey, those are a quarter of the price - I'll order a couple. Do you use assembly paste with yours or leave them dry?

I bought one of these tubes of Hylomar EAP5 to ease assembly- I'll use that, although I'm not sure if it'll allow the joints to be separated later (if necessary). http://hylomar.com/hylomar-product-r...aust-products/

Before all that though is the newly discovered heatshield problem - https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...04#post2779104.
