Christmas Marketing
I took my old mum shopping the other day and we were surrounded by Chinese Christmas plastic cr*p, with sparkling lights and out of tune carols playing along. Three massive shedsworth of it! I stood and looked around and got more and more angry! I won't be buying any of it. I shall make a charity donation instead. I will not add to the worldwide pollution and extortion any more. It sickens me. All this "stuff" brought half way around the world, to be thrown away into landfill when it breaks or fails (which usually isn't long). Rant over. Mods please delete if inappropriate but I had to vent before I blew a head gasket! (Rover link!)

I know what you mean. Like a few other things these days it is an imported tradition from foreign shores which is imposed upon us for purely commercial reasons. The quality is generally woeful and the siting of them I think is often unfair and detrimental to established businesses that are there throughout the year.

Just wait until the Walmart/Asda-inspired “Black Friday” BS kicks off. Plenty of overpriced cheap TVs etc to fight over in the aisles; no thanks! Wait and get decent stuff in the sales.
