Default cheapest 3m headlight resoration kit

currently the cheapest I have seen the 3M headlight restoration kit
https://www.amazon.co.uk/3M-39073-Re...estoration+kit

I have used it once and got great results.

As I had a £10 voucher for Halfords I got a Meguiars One Step Headlight Restoration Kit for £7.60.

First thing I notice is the Meguiars kit does not have "wet and dry discs" for a drill attachment. They are small double sided wet and dry squares that require elbow grease.

I have 5 sets of Face Lift head lights to do with another set that will need doing in due course. I thought I had 3 spare sets then found a forth... opps

I think I'll rig up some form of mounting jig for the lights.

Ive used this product before with excellent results.

Beware the tape is not sufficient enough to stop the discs from cutting through and damaging your paintwork around the lamps. I would use cardboard or much thicker tape next time.

Otherwise its great!

A few years ago I got one of THESE. From what I had read of the others, it contained the same components as the other branded ones. (at the time mine was around £7. You can get them for around £6.50 if you order from the chinese sellers. There It came with bottles of liquid UV sealant to apply at the end, my lenses on my old car were very very bad, scuffed too, but they came up a treat. Have used it to do at least a dozen not too bad lenses since, though I had used all of the velcro backed wet and dry discs. Pad and backing plate along with the paste still working. (the paste is just a polishing compound).

I agree, the green tape is useless, but it still managed to peel my lacquer off when peeling back the tape.
