Default Cricketing Legend

Bob Willis - best known for taking 8 for 43 in the amazing 1981 Ashes Test at Headingley - has passed away at the age of 70.
R.I.P. - deserves the word legend without a doubt.

People often refer to that Test as "Botham's Ashes" but Bob Willis ran in over after over to turn the match. A true cricketing legend
RIP

I don't do cricket, but remember him as a sporting great when I was at school.

There was, at that time, a cricket update telephone number, ( much like Dial a Disc.), whilst Bob was performing his amazing 8-43 bowling stint, I must have rang that number a least 100 times, as each Aussie wicket went clattering, the feelings of excitement...and disbelief mounted. Truly a day to remember.

Thanks Bob. I bet you are singing all those Dylan songs up there in heaven.

R.I.P. Big man .
