Had the bonnet cables apart to grease them before the winter and realised that they were in upside down! I was sure that I had checked them when I did the same job last year! All greased, new cable ties fitted and working smoothly! All hinges and drivers door lock treated with ACF 50, spray white grease and/or graphite as required. Coolant tested and washer bottle anti froozled ready for the cold. Brrrrrrrrrrr! Sheepskin throws brushed and cleaned.

Great job, I used to manufacture these vents when new, I don’t think they were that well assembled back then!!

Plugged it into pscan to try and identify why it's so lumpy when cold.

Found the immediate answer - overfuelling with injection times around 14ms. Turns out the IACV is at around 60 steps when hot, giving a manifold pressure of 50kPa.

Obviously not right, but are the two related?

Thanks, they are not so bad assembled but the plastic is age the diesel vibrations and first 4 years on Italian sun made the problem. yes I find under some not clipped cables that can also make annoying nose.

Just had the not so good mild machined steel rear wheel bearing put into service. The garage mechanic reckoned it was the actual bearings that were more important than the surround; I suppose time will tell.

AutoDoc, from whom I purchased the bearing, have received my complaint letter accusing them of misrepresentation and even passing off, as the box the bearing was packed in had "SRN" stamped all over it, but the bearing was FAG...

£40 labour for fitting, sounded reasonable to me - good local garage!

First off I changed the fuel filter, then I replaced the rear backplates together with new handbrake shoes, pins and springs.
All the signs that Billy bodge had been here too in the past.
Here’s the originals.
