Default Story of my Car

Hello dear friends, Im Baran and im from Turkey. The rover brand is not so popular round here and its really hard to find parts for the car. I wanted to tell the story of my car. The date was febuary of 2000, my dad and mom were is akmerkez mall in istanbul having dinner. After the dinner my mom saw the car at a `podium` and she fell in love with it. At the time they never had heard about the brand but they liked it so much they bought it through borusan autos. they bought it on 25th of Febuary, 2000. The car was Dorchester red and had the Beige (sdf) interior. it was a 2.0 litre v6 Connoiseur model. Mainly my dad drove the car, but after my birth (1st of october, 2001) he gave the car to my mom. Through out the years they spent astronomic numbers on repair costs due the rover group dying and had to source the parts from a mechanic, but they never wanted to sold the car. now here i am, 2-3 weeks away from getting my driving license to finally drive the car. Ever since i first saw the car (the earliest memory that i can remember) i loved the car soo much, and i still love it. Im planning to go to UK next summer with the car. VIN of the car is 124685. Can we know which car was to be produced (like was it the 101st,250 etc...). Also the car currently has around 250xxx kilometers. And it drinks fuel. (around 15-16 litre per 100 kilometers.)

Its not that audible from your clip - but when did you last change the timing belt or the auxillary belt ? Recommended they are changed every 6 years.

Also could be worn hydraulic tappets/rocker arms which, in the worst case, will have affected the camshaft(s). This is due to infrequent or missed oil and filter changes or the use of an incorrect grade of engine oil, causing oil starvation to the top of the engine or sludging of the cylinder head oil ways.

Thank you for your reply. i dont think that the reason of the sound is due to late oil changes because we serviced that car every 10k km's and used castrol. Im not too sure about the belts tho, i will make sure to check them. Also if ill have the oppurtunity, i will upload another video if our car tomorrow.

A lovely looking car! I can't hear the video very well either. Could it be the infamous manifold death rattle?
