Default intermittent electric windows

Hi,

sometimes when pressing any (drivers/passenger/rear)button for electric windows, the windows don't move. A click can be heard from passenger side dashboard when pressing button.

Loose or faulty relay maybe??

The BCU controls all the windows and if it is a relay you are hearing then it must be inside the BCU and, more importantly, working satisfactorily.

Since all your windows are affected when operated from the driver's door switchpack, I would suspect the WIN bus. This is a single wire through which all driver demands are sent to the BCU as digital signals (according to RAVE). By a process of elimination it appears to be white/black and has a connector on its route from the door to the BCU which is a prime suspect.

Initially, try removing the driver's switchpack and reseating the connectors.

What happens when you operate the switches mounted on both rear and front passenger doors?

Simon

Hi simon, the windows wouldn't work earlier today using any switchpack. But this evening I was out in the car and they are now working.

I will try reseating all the switchpacks
