Default How do you disconnect SMARTNAV?

I have the type that calls the smartnav company and they give you directions over a 'phone' car speakers. It requires subscription to work fully.

How do you disconnect it completely as I believe it may be using too much power and will drain battery over a week or so.

The drain is on fuse number 9, which is clock, T4 connection point, seats and smartnav. I don't believe it is the 1st three items (clock and t4 point don't use much or any) and seats, could be but probably not. However the smartnav can be switched on even without key in ignition leading me to believe it is that causing the drain!?

Anyone have an idea??

I would check for a sticking relay under the drivers seat, this has been known as a fault for battery drain.

The quiescent current drain of a smartnav is circa 25mA, so fairly unlikely to be the cause, but you could always unplug the unit, it lives on a bracket below the BCU

When one of my ZTs had smart nav I used to call them up and they would give you 1 months free subscription to see if you liked it. Used it then a few months later rang again and made out I had just bought the car and got it again.
A great bit of kit in the day but even phones have sat nav now!

I have subscribed to Smartnav for the nearly 10 years I have owned my 75.The car has always been a weekend only car but I have never experienced battery drain despite the cars lack of regular use.

Not the ECU Brian? BCU is where? Forgive the lack of brains!
