Thanks I think Trikey is in Lincolnshire, the car is in South Wales, so a not of a stretch. I may drag it back to Bristol. Where all my tools are.

This is the plan, slightly mired by:-
Dad who wants to get it fixed himself.
My sprinter has died and I don't have another tow vehicle.
Availability of my mates trailer.
Work.

It will get sorted soon.

The Haynes says the brake and clutch fluid are in a common reservoir, this is a new thing to me, I checked it and it was 8mm below max.
Is this correct for a 2.5 v6 ztt 190?

Haynes is wrong here. Brake reservoir in engine bay. Clutch reservoir is above pedal.

No , quite wrong.
Brake fluid reservoir is under the bonnet , behind the bulkhead on offside , whilst the clutch reservoir is inside the car, below the dash and at the top of the clutch pedal . Bit of a pig to get at !

Thanks all for help and advice.

We got the car off Mum & Dad's drive, they live on a steep hill, to a better location, friends flat drive near to them in Pembrokeshire.
I hope to fix it, this weekend.
