Default Saw it,bought it but don't regret it.....

I assume you viewed the R75 and saw its extravagance but still bought it.
Why the second thoughts? Somebody taking the p**** because you bought it?

I am still finding things that need repairing but when you buy a car of that age what do you expect? I get frustrated that no sooner I fix one thing another pops up..... but when I drive her, and when I look at her its worth every minute and every penny.....

And despite all of this, you own three, however the one with the Crown Vic engine certainly fits the dubious build quality status

Down to two now.

Hopefully end up with something decent at some point, but the places I go its kinda nice to have a rubbish car. People are dreaming if they think the 75/ZT is "quality". It was really well done for a low budget sure, but actual quality? Hmmmm... I will say the body finishes are amazing, far FAR more rust/corrosion resistent than many other cars out there, if not the majority!

I'd not want to take an £18k Passat 240PS BiTDI 4-Motion with panoramic roof to somewhere like Albania/Belarus/Russia etc, so the poor old ZT it is for now I guess. Plus £18k on some diesel estate is madness, C63AMG territory, now this is a quality car :p :p

Having driven a C63 AMG Mercedes, it is everything the 260 wasn't, fast , comfortable, point and shoot and an exhaust note to die for

I did get the average fuel consumption down to 14 MPG too

You still would have come up nine grand short if you went with eighteen in your back pocket to buy this one though

Brian you troller.... thats one thing you cannot fault a 260 on, the sound. Nicer than the AMG to me anyway. When you consider the value of a charged car at ~16k (mint one) the C63 looks even better value.

Didn't say the 260 had a naff exhaust note Ross, a couple of pointless trips through the Tyne tunnel with all four windows down

However the C63 is a different beast altogether, and it doesn't drive like it was put together by a couple of lads in their lockup either

Too old to worry about what people think and don't really give a stuff. Not even to some of the cheap shots to invoke mirth at my expense with other more experienced folk here. I just say things as i see it. No malice, no buyer's remorse, just happen to think that they are too bright and too big, regardless of their ovality, EU compliance or even what others think.
Glad to see that everyone jumps in to defend the marque, but don't think some of the retorts were all that necessary. I am a big boy and can take it on the chin :-)

Not Bright enough for me-not my eyes(well according to Specsavers) but I do think they need to be a bit brighter- maybe its something to do with the interior which is black leather, black plastic (smoked oak) I don't know, anyone put brighter indicator bulbs in or is it a T4 thing? Chris.S.
