Default EP message on display and no start 1.9 CDTI

Hello,

I posted on this forum approx. 2 years ago whenI was having problems with my old Rover 75 which I unfortunately wrote off.

I have bought another one, for work away in Germany.

Rover 75 1.9 CDTi
KX53NTL
VIN No:- SARRJSLHK40311058
Mileage:- 69K

I have had it about a week with no issues, I went to Morrison's this afternoon to pick up my wife. Upon returning to the car the car would not start and EP was displayed on the dashboard. No turn over nothing...dead after a few seconds the radio and fan came on but the car would not start.

Any ideas/help please
Regards
Finbar

EP is Emergency Programme, gearbox ecu comms fault. I think you'll need a T4 on it Oh, & check the plenum & fuses

Thanks SuZuBlu,

But that is all gobbledegook to me, I had an expert called Brian come down from Newcastle and fixed the ECU on the last Rover 75.

I was wondering if it was something basic that I could fix.

Cheers

if pulling the gbx ecu fuse in the engine bay (4 I think) foe a few minutes does not fix it then it is most probably a comms issue for which you would need the likes of Brian again....

Shame you've changed your number Lee, or I would have had a run down and sorted it for you

I've replied to your PM
