Default Washing machine.

Hi, my washing machine is causing problems, it doesn't seem to acknowledge when it is full of water and it overflows. I have done an internet search and this http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15121 fits my symptoms perfectly. Same machine as mine etc. Anyone know what this entails to put right?

Hi Phil, This is what the switch looks like and is usually near the top, it has a small pipe attached about a quarter of an inch diameter i think this is the pipe that you need to check.

Cheers Bill! Do you have any idea how easy it might be to replace?

should not be to difficult, the pipe just has a spring clip at each end, if its the switch just write down where the wires go and swap them over, i would take pipe off the switch/diaphram first then blow down pipe to see if it clear, sometimes they get blocked with old soap powder, then if you can blow into the switch where the pipe goes and you should hear it make 1 click when you blow and 1 click when you stop blowing, its about 20yrs since i had anything to do with fixing washing machines.

I just started to dismantle the washing machine, I found a plastic "test tube type" thing with a rubber hose coming out of it, I blew down it and it clicked twice when blowing and clicked twice when releasing. If I blew really hard I could hear it leaking. If I pulled the drum to one side, it stopped leaking when blowing. It was not leaking unless you blew hard. Could this be the level switch or could it be the door lock? The hose looked like washer hose from car washer jets..

not to sure phil, but the pipe that goes to the pressure switch is like the car washer pipe, can you not see the switch itself anywhere near the top of the machine? about 3-4inch diameter

The clicking seems to come from the front where you can't see, behind the control panel.
