Have a search around the valet section.

I had a similar issue with mine. Simplest solution was a couple of coats of plastic primer followed by a top coat of satin black. It came up like new. Did this to the air filter cover, engine cover, header tank and cam cover.

looks very nice, I've wanted to paint mine satin red, but the black looks really clean and tidy - what did you use to polish the pipes?

Beautiful! When I bought my car back in April I thought the engine compartment looked fairly presentable for a 13 year old car, but having seen this I'll leave the bonnet firmly closed unless absolutely necessary.

Thanks. Aircon pipes were cleaned with Brasso. A combination of Brasso and wire wool were used on the alternator, engine mount, throttle body and other areas. It's still a work in progress - everytime I look at it I see another part that could do with a polish.

Here is my engine bay on my ZTT.

I spray painted the battery box lid, engine cover and fuse box lid and fitted a stainless steel panel to the fusebox lid.

I used a Dremel with metal polish, Autosol and Brasso to polish the air con pipes and top strut mount bolts on my ZTT.

and here is my twopeneth worth with a picture of my engine bay on a ZT 190

I used hydadipping for my covers

All the aluminium was deep cleaned but Im not a polished ally fan so left it as the original castings but clean.

All the pictures give you food for thought

You can use a heat gun, or a blow torch to repair scratches to plastics. It really does work, just use one very lightly, the plastic goes back to its original form and the scratches disappear.

If you have a good hair-dryer, this can also sometimes work.

Thanks for all the helpful advice.
I was hoping that there might be something easier like polish or scratch remover that might do the job.
Thanks
David
