Rattling noise near the power stearing reservior
Just back from holiday and had to jump start - my battery is always flat after three weeks or so - not sure if this is reasonable - but that's not today's problem.
With the bonnet up I immediately noticed a rattling noise that seems to come from the cam belt just under the power steering reservoir. As this cannot have developed during the three weeks period - it must have been there before the holiday - but with the bonnet down it went unnoticed. Does anyone know what this could be due to? Is it serious enough to require immediate attention? Many thanks for any helpful ideas Navylark |

Don't know very much about diesels but worn idlers or tensioners can make rattling noises. Diesels don't have cambelts.
