Well - I once had a 1968 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow 1 - 6.8MPG, when I tried hard (to drive gently!)... My 4.6 Range Rover wasn't that much better, 8.5 MPG once through the centre of town - and it is a mere strip of a car compared to the Shad...
