Door warning light
I think I know the answer, but where to start.
The car in question 2.0 cdt tourer 2002. On motorway driving I came across the following problem. Up to 80 mph (allegedly) No problems, then between 80 and 90 the "doors open warning light" comes on, intermittently at first and then solidly once 90 mph is reached, once below 80 mph the light goes out again. I am assuming it's a bad earth somewhere,or am I barking up the wrong tree? |

Stick to the speed limits then
Come on you expected that one. Sounds like it could be a dodgy switch. |

The varying speeds, and thus air currents, are lifting your bonnet sufficient to activate the bonnet circuit switch. There are two rubber grommets, one each side of the slam panel, that screw in and out. Screw them in a turn or so and test until the light does not come on. Alternatively slow down (though that would be no fun eh!)

I wus confused, I thought it was the door light rather than the Bonnet/boot open light
as you say Mike the bonnet problem crops up quite regular. |

Thanks for that. But how safe is it to get out of the car at 90 mph just to screw the bonnet down?

That depends if you are driving the car or not, you do need to be clear on your description of your problem

I used to have a similar issue.
I found that after closing the bonnet by dropping it, if I pressed on it I heard another 'click'. No more warning lights. |

Now if you drove a silky smooth KV6 it would of course be a totally different matter...................
