Like you Brian,I still have a hankering for an old classic bike, but as with getting another 75, nowhere to keep one . Or time to use it for that matter.

I am not surprised at this, have you see the price of these Motorcycles? The cheapest one they are selling is £15k . I am sure it is well made but how many people have that kind of money for a classic looking toy?
I was lucky enough to go to the Motorcycle show last year at the NEC, there are some great bikes on the UK market that I would choose before I spent my hard earnt on one of these machines sadly. Some of there bikes are nearly £30k. Why do people purchase a motorbike? Freedom, Speed? What ever your reason I just think there is such a limited market anyway and then you make one for a small part of that market you are going to be in trouble once all your potential customers have purchased one. |

Not been on a bike much since we sold the Dommie ..
But had a go on an mates old Honda 400 Hornet V4 a while back. low enough to get over the seat Wound it up to about 6-7 k and thought this is ok . Got back and was told the power isn't until 9k , so had a second go and gave it some more beans, hit 9k and all hell broke loose, , frightened the **** out of me. Obviously getting a bit soft nowadays C

I wonder if the iconic Norton name will be bought up like MG by the Chinese? they seem to be the only people with money these days.

Maybe Indian Royal Enfield could purchase them, they're all set up for making classic looking bikes, and I believe are one of, if not the biggest selling motorcycle at the moment. But It's unlikely, they're already successful, so why add a niche and failed company to their business.

Yep when I was looking for new Brit bike in 2016, although I wanted the Commando, there was no way I was going to splurge that sort of money on a bike. I opted for Triumphs "bargain" Street Twin at a mere £7,300 |

They were handbuilt bikes so prices were high, shame they couldn't make a go of it this time round. I'm sure someone will have another go sooner or later. It is too iconic a name to disappear!
Reminds me I must get my Commando out of the garage and back on the road. Pictured here in the foreground at the 2011 Norton Day at Brooklands. |

here's my biggest regret:-
Sold it for £55 with the sidecar! It was a lovely bike to ride, with smooth engine and gearing, plus very comfortable. It's been to the States since and that pic was taken by its owner living about 50 miles away from my current location in Norfolk! Always fancied a Norton but have also had BSA Royal Star, Honda CB750 Ten Year Anniversary Limited Edition, Honda CB 250, CB 500, Suzuki GT 380, GSX600, GSF600, etc., etc. No doubt Norton prices will go up even more now!
