I think the site/s will eventually ban the charging of electric cars outside of caravans as it raises an interesting legal point. On caravan sites, no "area" outside the van is for your private use, so as the above poster said, what if someone trips over your cable and injures themselves as its technically a public place.

I can't see how its ever going to work, what's going to happen with charging points in congested terraced streets with no off road parking, you couldn't have a thick cable snaking out of every house and across the path to their car, assuming they could park outside their house and only have one electric car.

Tower blocks and blocks of flats would need at least one car space for every flat and charge point close by, and that could be a lot car parking space (our council recently approved a block of flats with no allocated off road parking).

I imagine the ambulance chasers are going to have a Klondike in litigation.
