Just got back !!!
I have just returned from a cruise round the Baltic on the new P&O ship Vertura.
This has been a great excuse for spotting 75's in other countries. None seen in Oslo, Stockholm, or Talin [Lithuania]. I found the best way to see the various places was by local tour bus or tram, great for 75 hunting and it kept SWMBO happy. No picture of a BRG 75 with aftermarket wheels. [bus going too fast] I took a picture of this Moonstone Club in Senate Square Helsinki. In St. Petersburg there were a BRG saloon, a Midnight Blue Tourer and three Midnight Blue saloons, including this one.. I spotted this Odyssey Blue in Wanamunde [in former East Germany], its a 1.8 turbo Club. A great holiday, and good to see quite a few 75's all low spec. models and only the Odyssey Blue one in clean condition. Dave T |

Welcome back Dave. You missed the great 2008 forum migration when everything went south for a bit.
Good to see you arrive back safe and sound. Also good to see the left hand drive models out and about over in Europe as well.

Nice to hear of someone enjoying a visit to this part of the World. Tallinn's actually in Estonia but not so far away Dave . Interesting you didn't see any 75s there. They're very popular if you come south to Latvia and Lithuania. Way back in 2002 a dealer here bought 60 new 75s from MGR and sold them all in no time. Just checked on the web and there's 74 for sale plus no end of RHD cars for breaking. It's the high spec cars that tend to be sought after.
Did you call in at Klaipeda, Lithuania's port? It's got a very nice, if small, Old Town and well worth a visit. I could have brought my 75 down just so you wouldn't be disappointed. You now need to follow up with a car tour of the Baltics. I met a ZT owner last year who was doing just that. He was on his way back to UK and I was bringing the SV-R to Lithuania. We both decided to stay at the same hotel in a small town in Poland. They'd probably never seen an MG there before and suddenly two turn up . Tom

MG Rover must have done good trade with the former Communist states. five 75's seen in St Petersburg, so there must be quite a few there.. Tallinn [Estonia] was the only one of the three baltic states the ship visited. This is one very nice city and possibly the only port we visited that I would like to return to. The Ventura is a huge cruise ship 115,000 tons. 290 meters long and 19 storeys high. Over 3500 passengers. The ships size means many ports are too small for the ship to dock, including Stockholm [we had to land by ships tender] and Copenhagen where the sea was too rough to dock.
