The most common culprit appears to be rear light seals. One solution is to remove them, turn them over & fit on the opposite side or try some silicon sealant.

Definately go for the rear light cluster seals. When I first got my 75 I discovered a swimming pool in the spare wheel recess!

Remove the light clusters, remove the seals. Wash them in soapy water, rinse them dry them (obviously!) then reglue the join. Give them a light smear of silicone sealant and replace them on the opposite side to where they came off, nearside one on offside and vice versa.

Did that with mine and haven't had a problem since.

Hi,
Mine was letting in water from the mounting pins on the side trim, had to remove the trim, add a blob of silicon to each pin and re fit all ok.
I found the problem by getting in the boot with a torch, whilst a pal sprayed the back of the car with a hose.

Check rear window seals also. There is a how-to on here somewhere for silicone sealing all these areas...

The boot seal can also let water in if it's either not on properly or damaged. If it's just wet on the carpet then probably rear window seals, if however there's loads of water try looking at the lights first then pour water over using watering can or hose to check.
My 190 let water in everywhere it could!!

when i first got mine nemo would have been quite happy swimming around in one of my rear lights

the seals had split on the join .. dried and bit of super glue .. clean it all up and on the body to get a good seal.. no problem as yet

Yes could be a few but start at the rear lights easy job to do and then its out of the way, clean the gaskets swap them over glue and stapple them as i have then use either sealant or vaseline which ever is your choice both do the same job i opted for sealant still bone dry Arctic.
