I recently had just such a noble gimmick fitted & absolutely love it.

The sunblind is not a gimmick on some journeys. I've driven that journey with the sun blazing through the rear window without any such protection for the rear-seat passengers. They were very uncomfortable and sunburnt around the neck and the back of the head after an hour or so of driving in that direction with the sun on the rear of the car.

The vents of a cheaply scavenged real wood dash obtained new rubber seals:

Apart from this I ordered four Rover logo patches and impregnated them with 2K-clearlacquer as a protection against dirt:

I removed the hot glue coat on the back surface:

I routed a piece of hard plywood:

And I ordered brandnew footmats:

They need to be pressed down a day long or so:

The patches will be glued in using a 2K-epoxy.

Was it hard to fit it?

Well, l must admit to being a bit daunted by the tales of difficult to remove rear shelves, so l had Trikey fit it while he was doing a bunch of other jobs to my car. Including swapping my black dashboard for an Aubergine one.
Much easier for me & very reasonably priced too.

In the meantime I finished the grille. I glued the mesh with a paste of epoxi and wood sanding dust. It holds bomb-proof.
