Default MG ZT-T 190 HGF or something Else

Hi Guys,

tomorrow i'm going to take a look a MG ZT-T 190.
The current owner is selling it because of a ENgine Failure and a Rear Spring Failure.
He suspects a HGF, but after reading and searching i found that a HGF on a KV6 is not common.

He also stated that is sometimes runs on 5 cilinders.

I already made a list of suspects:
- HGF
- Thermostathousing
- Engine coils

The springs will be replaced with the Motobuild ones, directly lowering the car .

Are there any tips for me to look/hear/smell at to see what the problem is

While not unheard of, the chances are it's not hgf on a V6. More likely to be a knackered oil cooler. Can be bypassed easily enough to rule it out.
My old V6 160 had a misfire that was never found, but I tried everything I could think of to trace it! Coils, plugs (particularly the rear bank), injectors, compression, ecu, all things I was recommended to try and trace the misfire. If it's only occasional, id guess it's probably a plug or coil breaking down under load.
