Default Just A question about a purchase

We all know know now there are 2 types of slots in the lower arm Bushes, one preferred over the other .

So someone orders a pair of lower arms and Bushes , and when the items arrive the arms are from Different manufacturers so not technically a pair and the Bushes have the Long Slots despite the Advert photo showing the preferred smaller slots,

Is it not resonable to have moan and expect somethingto be done .

Not looking to crucify a supplier .. yet!!!! just asking..

Hi Chris.
I have had the same trouble with lower wish bones bushes I purchased in the past, I have complained about the listing photo, and what I received serval times to different seller, each time I have had a full refund, they also did not want the items back, so that alone shows how cheap they are buying them for.

ceedy, can you tell me more about the slots as I don't know the issue on these, thanks.

I think you would be justified to "moan" at the retailer. The photo does influence how people make up their mind. Was there a mention that the picture was for reference only and not of the actual item?

Also just Sent an email off about the arm & bush problems to the Supplier.. we will see what comes back.

Picture of the preferred style Bush assembly note the Slot Size !

and the non preferred type with the Longer slot, more flex, less rubber etc...

Sorry had to nick the pictures from elsewhere on the forum

This whole slot size issue has been discussed at length on the Forum so its really old news/info

Even when purchased direct from unipart when you could, I bought a pair of rear arm bushes one side was perfect the other was the undesirable type it even sat loosely on the arm.

Just to throw another spanner in the works, the size of the slots doesn’t mean much these days, you can find the smaller slotted bush that isn’t as good as the one with the long slots.

The reason? The shore hardness of the rubber varies between supplier, a lot of the Chinese bushes use softer rubber than the original bushes.

A good tip (Although a bit late once you have bought the bush) is that if the bush slides into the arm easily then the chances are it’s one made from an inferior rubber.

The best bushes make you swear a lot when trying to fit them!

Hi Chris. I looked at these ‘slots’ on different rear bushes before I bought some around 4/5 years ago. I bought Unipart rear bushes as they seemed to more fit what I thought was a stronger bushing. The pictures you show are like chalk and cheese. The one on the right is like the ones from Unipart. It is unfortunate that they have gone out of business now. Mine are still going on.

My current ones fitted are the long slotters, bought before "We realised" there were 2 types, and mine have the centre bush split on at least 0ne at about 15k miles & 2 years . even though when i purchased them the photo in the advert showed the Short slots , and still does
