Default Rover 75 CDTi Tourer 2004 what's this engine pipe for?

I've noticed a pipe on the nearside (passenger side) of the engine. It's loose and wobbly and looks like a brake pipe with a nipple on the end.

I was so pleased to get the HPFP, hydramount and rear n'side wheel bearing done (thanks to posts on the forum) that I forgot all about it until doing coolant, screen washer and oil checks today.

Doing a separate post about the coolant!

PS Hope the NE crew had a good lunch at the Falcon, be good to meet some people in the New Year but that a lunch event probably wasn't the best.......

Cheers

Could be a blocked off vacuum hose if an egr bypass has been fitted.

What a numpty, I reckon macafee2 has it right, It's loose though so I should probably nip it.

Thanks for the thought, Trikey, but no EGR bypass. In fact I could probably do with a clean up in there but not top of the list.

Thanks a lot.
