i have a used one with the clip which glowed red hot when it had twelve volts applied to it.

Hey Ian. If your burner chamber is a later one with a square glow plug aperture, then yes. Model and serial numbers mean diddly, chances are it may not have the chamber that was installed at the factory. Older chambers have a round aperture and glow plug. square peg in a round hole thing. They are cheap because chambers with a square aperture are in the minority. But don't worry, when people start buying them, the price will double.

Glowing when 12v is applied means diddly, it has to have the correct resistance to act as a flame sensor, when the glow plug is switched off. Also 12v can damage the glow plug, it's actual working voltage from the PCB is 8v. If the working voltage was 12v, it would be quick to stop working.
