Ian let's have a meet up as you suggested in your other thread. If you had a leaking slave cylinder eventually the fluid would run out, and as you have a sinking pedal with fluid still in the reservoir either air is getting in somewhere or there is a fault with the master cylinder.

You can always have a borrow of the GhettoTech clutch fluid level indicator if you are worried about it dropping.

Mike I appreciate it, thank you. I will PM you. Clever idea that GhettoTech clutch fluid level indicator

If that worked you wouldn't need the condom in the first place.---

It does have a function which is why it was put in there by ROVER.-----

It was only a suggestion for the "manual" boys to try as the Rover manual system does not seem to last long
So why not put a "proper" temperature gauge in in the first place that shows the proper temperature??

I think we might be talking at cross purposes here as my remark was about a diaphragm made of rubber. Its purpose solely to disallow ingress of moisture and aid breathing.
It has no temperature function.---

Jon,
apologies for the confusion (also to OP for the digression)
my post regarding cling film was merely a suggestion to increase the volume of the master cylinder and seal from ingress of moisture, nothing more.
The second part was pointing out that Rover failed to provide a decent representation of coolant temperature therefore perhaps they were incorrect
in their design of the master clutch cylinder. . I may be totally wrong, I do have an auto box
Regards
