Hi Martin,

Post 17 gives directions to the Lay by, from 3 different directions, together with times.

If you know the actual route that you'll be taking, send me a PM, and I'll respond with more detail.

If I can find a post code for somewhere, near then I'll add it here, with an appropriate note.

Mike

Just a heads up; my communication from Edenbridge Motor show suggests "Car Exhibitors must be on site before 08:30 to be placed with your fellow club members" does this apply to us or just official groups?

Thanks for this Rob, and no, I've not read this before.

Have I missed this, yet to receive it, or is it local knowledge?

I booked myself in about 10 days ago, received an instant auto reply stating my online ticket will be sent within 7 days, and I'm still waiting.

I would think that it applies to their "clubs" meaning groups of 10+.

I did look at their website over the weekend, and counted (I think) 22 odd "clubs" listed.

I highlight clubs as they include names like rusty bolts, or similar. This equates to over 200 vehicles; all needing to enter the site, before 08:30.

Based on this 08.30 deadline, to be with fellow exhibitors, means that we might be safer by mustering at 08.00, for an 08.15 move to the show ground.

I'm happy to do this, and if others are, then I'll formalise it.

Thanks again for your input.

Mike

OK, my ticket, and conditions arrived whilst I was typing post 23.

I have pasted below, the relevant section, from their T & C's

All Car Exhibitors must be on site before 08:30 to be placed with your fellow club members or the individual car
exhibitor arenas. Any access after 9.30 am may be restricted on the day.

Quite clearly, the email that I received about arriving together, to park together, doesn't totally fit with the above.

My reading is that clubs must arrive by 08.30, and that whilst individual exhibitors will be (possibly) in a separate area, they should also arrive by 08.30.

Clearly it is now safer / necessary to muster at 08.00, leave the lay-by by 08.15, and arrive as a group by 08.30. in order to (hopefully) be within the clubs section

Sorry about the late change.

Regards

Mike

Thank you Pat,

We'll try and keep a space for you.

The organisers do seem to be helpful, going by the email correspondence that I've had with them; whether that extends to the gate staff and stewards, time will tell.

I'll send you a PM with my mobile number: if you ring when you are close to the site, we can let you know the score.

Regards

Mike

Please note that there is a discrepancy between Google and A-Z, in respect to road numbering, or (more likely) the numbering has changed, and I used the old number.

I have edited the directions on the forum, to avoid any confusion.

The stretch of road from Four Elms to Edenbridge, is shown as a continuation of the B2042, (A-Z, 2019).

However, the same stretch of road is marked as the B2027, (Google, 2022)

Regards

Mike

I have just received an email from the organisers.

The Motor Show WILL be going ahead, with a 2 minute silence at 11:00 am, followed by the National Anthem.

Thanks for your good wishes Jennifer, the weather forecast was favourable when I looked earlier, so that's a plus.

As you know, I missed the Wrotham one; let's hope for better next year.

Regards

Mike
