Default and tumbling down the A1 today

my front offside jacking pad
Not the sort of road to stop and try to recover anything from
I know I have spares at home but am going to a couple of breakers tomorrow

Check the area around them for rot. Known failure points. Had mine welded over and plated back to support brackets, then I treat every year with Dynax and cavity wax.

If you do that you trap any condensation or water that gets in there. It then has nowhere’s to go so rots away quietly out of site.

No you don't, as there are drain holes under the sills on my Mk 1. Just make sure that they don't get blocked. I also use the drain holes to spray in the Dynax and cavity wax every year (taking care that they are not blocked by the excess wax that drips out). Have a good look under the sill and you will probably find them (difficult to see when they are crusty!).
