Cool Anybody want a donor / project car***GONE TO A NEW HOME***

Hi all.

As above. The time has come to part company as I can no longer keep pouring money into the vehicle, around £500 to £1000 these last few months.

There is Mot until next January, but a persistent ABS problem will not go away.

New offside front wheel bearing, back plate and ABS sensor fitted, new offside front tyre for the Mot, new battery last November, new nearside rear hub fitted a couple of weeks back.

It is in need of new rear back plates as they are corroded badly, this is what is causing the problem as the abs sensor has been rubbing against the old hub, nearside. That aside, the upper suspension arms are badly corroded, the sub frame is on its way, what else I do not know, to be advised on strip down. Have a new nearside front back plate, not fitted and a new nearside rear Abs sensor, not fitted as well.

As said, enough is enough, I have other priorities in life.

The car is a ZT 2,5 V6, 82000 miles with most history until recently.

Car is currently sorn, and uninsured, parked on my drive. Can be driven, 1st application of the brake causes the ABS to cut in, light on dash comes on and brakes without banging.

If anybody is interested, please drop me a pm. I'll give it a couple of weeks, otherwise it will be going to the breakers, something I would rather not have to do.

Regards,

Dave.

Just an update to my post.

The car has been taken on by a work colleague of mine, who I know will look after and cherish it the way that I have for the time I owned it.

To say I was not gutted when I handed the keys over, would be an understatement. The smile on the face of the new owner made up for that though.

Ironically, I shall still see the car as it now lives over my back garden fence, 2 to the left!

So, my time on here is done, and thanks to one and all for the help and advice given over the years. The new owner is now a member and I am sure he will be made welcome in the usual manner

Best wishes to all, and again, thank you.

Regards,

Dave

Cool

Well, at least it has gone to a good home. Don’t be a stranger, pop in from time to time and let us how you are getting with the replacement set of wheels.

Yes, it has and I know it will be looked after well.

Would like a V8 ZT or 75, but could be lumbered with the same structure related issues again.

Have the E350 Coupe, nice car, goes like hell if you want it to. Thinking perhaps of trading in for a Mercedes ML.

Give me a bit of time to mourn I think!!!

Regards,

Dave.

Ps, thanks for changing the header, appreciated

Cool

I’ve had my V8 ZTT 400 for just over 4 years and it still very reliable. Spent out a bit last week with new brake disc’s pads on all 4 corners, two new rear tyres and a full service. But she is still only on 64k.

So good luck with the search for a 260.

The new owner is my self, always wanted a zt since my early teens as my old man had a few 75's back in the day
The zt puts a massive smile on my face, especially the nice exhaust note from the stainless back box
My first job when the weather's a bit warmer is to sort the abs issue with a new back plate (found a new one on ebay for 40 quid)
Then have a look see if the rear subframe is salvageable
Most of all I'm going to look after her and have many happy miles in her
