I did a visual check on discs and pads today at the same time cleaning the wheels inside, adding some tyre black.

Reminder to myself change pads at the end of September.

NB. If you try this, beware - you'll probably break some or all of the trim clips when you take the chrome strips off. There are 12 per side and they're £2.15 each. https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-DDQ100460 / #11 here https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID001806
The strips aren't very easy to get off.

The 4 sill jacking points are separate items - just squirt wax up through the pad holes.
Many thanks for this!
I'll order some new clips before I start doing the job.

Default Lambda sensor.

Fault code P0135, which translates as "O2 sensor heater circuit, Bank 1, sensor 1".
Clearing code using Torque meant it came back again some time later. Error could mean wiring etc.

Clever bit: Using torque to watch O2 sensor volt readings while I revved the engine, revealing that it's stuck on 0.415 volts, aka the ECU "fiddle factor" when it's got no input.

Today I changed the front bank's sensor which, surprisingly, came out at first ask with the adjustable spanner

Clear code again with Torque, all good now.

Going under there meant I found the rad leak I think I can change it without venting the airco circuit.

Well I had the covers off the plenum and the inspection panel from the front of the chamber to access the rear spark plugs, and the engine cover removed, for the front ones

Looking down into the vee, and there it was crusty pink residue around the thermostat housing, and boy this is something I could well do without.

So it looks like if I'm not mistaken, that the upright part of the thermostat housing is the late modified item, and the clips on the straight section of pipe appear to be tight and secure.

I'm probably looking towards buying the kaiser cast aluminum housing to replace the entire shooting match, there is nothing in the history file of the car (which is scant I hasten to add) to suggest this has been replaced, but it doesn't look the same as the pictures I've seen of this assembly.

On the plus side, at least the intermittent misfire has been pinned down to a faulty pencil coil, and the plugs are done.

One step forward etc............

Must of painted the spare about 6 or 7 times before I found this one.
