Simon did the design and considered that possibility so presumably had good reason not to go down that route

The nearside one's look fine to me, however, the offside one's don't appear to curve down enough on the rear edge and don't look right to me!

Hello guys,

I was just wondering if the startpost gets updated.
Are the pictures still correct? Because I've seen some pictures in this topic from chrome rings, but the ones in the startpost don't have that.

Also, how do I know if I should go for walnut or for light oak?

I believe MK1 75's have walnut, and MK2's have light oak.

Hi Vinnie,

It is me who keeps the first post going and some of it has been there a long time , but the products should still be the same and as new ones become available i do update the first post.

Sometimes members ask Simon to make bespoke items and I dont always get pictures of those items to post but i always ask anyone who has pictures of Simon's trim that they think would be useful to other members to post them on here

Re the chrome rings, there are 2 types as far as I am aware, the ones that go on the dash air vents and some that go around the door switches, but Simon stopped making the door switch ones for a while because the door switches are not completely flat and therefore his trim was not a perfect fit.

If you give me more details of the chrome rings you are referring to i will be able to help some more

As for whether you need walnut or light oak, light oak was fitted on the later cars ( mainly facelift ), your profile says your cars is a 2000 model so almost certainly walnut, but if you are not sure, please post a picture of your dash then we can tell you which one you have.

There are also pictures in posts above of both light oak and walnut if you take a look, posts 1102 and 1103 on page 111 of this thread show the comparison very well

Thanks for that Trebor.

I found out already that I need the walnut look, and I asked Simon via e-mail to give me a quote on the things I was after.
He gave a clear reply. I'm just waiting for a little bit more money to become available :P. Other then that I think I'm sorted.

Although I do have to say that I won't be using a few of them. I don't like the look of the ones for the horn-button on the steering wheel.
But the others look pretty cool.
