Default Sorted

At last my CDTi is sorted.
Having taken it to a local garage to get the charge light sorted, (charging ok), I ended up with the light still on, the car non starting and the EML on, and the bonnet jammed shut..

I sorted the bonnet and after weeks eventually got it booked into a competent garage. It turns out that the first one had cut a wire going into the ECU. Once repaired, the MAF could be reconnected and the EML back to normal.
The charge light was also cured, but the technician wasn't sure how. Everything checked out on the alternator and wire from the ECU. He put 12v into the wire leading to the light, apparently to check for instrument panel errors, and as expected the light went out and now behaves normally.

A classic case of a technician having the equipment and knowledge.
