Apart from the MG7, why so keen to get to China? It's not exactly a luxury holiday destination! May as well go to a Chinese in Birmingham - pretty similar!

I'd absolutely love to visit China, fantastic culture, art and history. Now that the state is becoming so much less repressive and tourists are actually welcome I would go like a shot.
I've been to Malaysia and Singapore so have had a taste of oriental culture due to the high number of Chinese there.

If we drink tea out of our 'Best china' what do the Chinese drink theirs from? Perhaps I should join the entourage wishing to visit to find out?

Yes, of course. Just kidding. My trips to China have never included any of the tourist spots, so I'm a bit jaundiced. The big cities are dirty, smelly and very polluted, but the countryside is much nicer. The parts I've been too are not as good as Malaysia or Singapore of course, which are much more developed and 'western' in feel. I too would love to visit places like the great wall, the forbidden city and some of the spectacular natural wonders of China. Being a keen adventure motorcycle rider I have also read several books and watched DVD's of bike trips through China and Mongolia - pretty amazing stuff some of it.
