Incidentally,
the last time I had my scuttle panel off, just a couple of weeks ago, and obviously had to remove my wiper arms, the ( rude word ) of a centre bit where the nut hold the arm onto the wheel box came flying off and dropped into the engine bay, causing me to have to jack the car up and remove the under tray to retrieve it! So this time ....... 20200809_105335 by Richard Rowley, on Flickr I stuck some masking tape on the arm whe I removed the nut, so the washer, come spacer, come locator, what ever the true name of it is, didn't do ariel acrobatics!

Incase anyone wants to buy the rubber trim.
Here you go! I suppose this could be done fairly easily at a Nano meet? Just a though... 20200809_131027-1 by Richard Rowley, on Flickr 20200809_131000-1 by Richard Rowley, on Flickr 20200809_130955-1 by Richard Rowley, on Flickr

So toady I put on my Torpedo badges on the ZT, while I was there I installed the correct clock as it had a rover 75 clock installed....has to change the surround as the MG clock had broken Lugs...
I then reinstalled the old rover HI-line radio in the boot as the BM54 I bought last month has stopped playing any sound through the speakers.....

Removed the OSR wheelarch liner, and carefully scraped off lots of loose surface rust, then wirebrushed the areas where the inner and outer wheelarch meet.
I then pressure washed everything to remove the salts revealed by the rust cell removal, and left it to dry. Tomorrow promises to be another day of fun in the sun filled, with rust treatment, anti rust paint and general tidying. It really is a shame that these cars had so little paint in the places that really matter Never mind, what else would you do on a nice sunny Sunday afternoon. Chris |

Today was a simple but determined effort to stop the knocking from the rear. I was sure it was the exhaust and although it was touching a couple of spots that wasn’t the cause. It turned out to be the round rubber bushing was loose on the bottom of near side shocker, quick nip up with an 18mm an breaker bar and all was lovey and quiet. So treated it to a good wash, then As it was a cracking day I also did the other half’s disastra and finally the works Ranger to have a full drive of clean motors.

After fitting the new fan, cleaning, rustproofing and lubricating everything on the front end and its fixings over the weekend, today I just drove it. Bliss, sheer, air conditioned bliss!

Put mine up on stands and sprayed penetrating fluid on all those "torqueing" points ready to do rear springs in the not too distant future.
