dog anti inflammatory tablets
hi had the dog into the vets as he has trouble with his back legs so I told them he used to be on youmove tablets but was now on salmon oil and was advised to go back to the tablets, so asking if anyone had tried any other tablets like the lintbells youmove ?
Thanks

Our BC's back end became so stiff, he was reluctant to get up, really struggled - too be fair, I thought it was the end for him, arthritic. That was two years ago.
Cod Liver Oil was suggested, a teaspoonful on his food, each day. He gradually improved and gets about just fine now, but his and his younger sisters breath began to really stink. More online advice suggested that to be too much CLO, that one teaspoon per week was all that was needed. so a few month back I dropped him down to one teaspoon per week and he has been fine and both of their breath too. His coat was a bit clumped up and dry looking, but the CLO seems to have also fixed that too. His sister is a bit of a thief, I'm guessing she was helping herself to some of his dinner. I buy the CLO 1 litre bottle at a time, ebay around £12 delivered and just measure it in with a 5ml syringe, to squirt over his dinner. I have also heard CBD suggested, but never tried that.

Our little 8 year old Yorkie suffers stiff back legs, the Lintbells Yumove tablets really do help, we soon noticed the difference. She also has the Lintbells Yumega supplement for her dry skin, brilliant stuff.

My experience agrees with that, apart from them loving them. He is very fussy, he would just spit them out, hence my moving to a liquid I could just spread on his food. I would advise anyone buying expensive tablets for such problems, to check what is in them - you might well find they are just fish oil. Why pay more?

When I was a kid we used to give our Dachshund cod liver oil. Initially it was capsules but, don't know how he did it, he'd wolf his dinner down and leave the capsule rattling around in the bottom of the empty dish.

funnily enough, we had a dog like that when I was a kid, although she loved cod liver oil, but with tablets given by the vet. Had a cat also did the same. It was very impressive lol.

Our vet told us not to give our dog cod liver oil which is made for humans, something to do with the higher levels of certain vitamins.
I just had to google it again... its to do with the A & D vitamins which are fat soluble, so can cause liver, artery and heart problems, can shorten the life of the animal. You just don't know whether all this is a marketing ploy, or proven medical science? Last edited by Dallas; 4th August 2019 at 20:39.. |

The one I use is sold for animals, again that could simply be a marketing ploy.

thanks for all the helpful replies, he gets 2 youmove tablets in the morning with a piece of smoked mackerel and his medicine on his food and the same at night and he also gets 5ml of salmon oil on his food every night, reason for posting was to see if anyone had found something cheaper than the youmove but with the same ingredients/concentration
