Default Ignition off, headlights go off

I have only had it six years and just noticed if your stop the engine and leave the headlights on it switches them off after a few seconds, just leaving the parking lights on.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

This is enabled on the T4 so if your head lights are on, you can turn the engine off then turn the head lights off and it goes off automatically after about 30 seconds. It is a handy feature

Thanks, I have always just turned them off, but on this occasion I was loading timber and etc. at Wickes front door for a couple of minutes - so decided to leave them on.

The idea is to give you some light to get the house key in the front door.

As Ravinder says, it can be switched on/off by a T4, or if you back up the drive, you can have the tail lights enabled, instead.

It would be much more useful if the reversing lights came on for 30 secs.

Or am I the only person who reverses in and drives out?

Seriously? I didn't know that was an option. I'll have to remember that.

Ali.

The BCU can leave any light turned on: main beam, dipped beam, Rear lights, STOP ligts, even reg plate number light or instrument cluster dials

No that is something different, I know about that and use it to find my way out of the garage when its dark. With headlights on, switch ignition off, then the lights - just the headlights stay on for a few seconds to 'see you home'.

This was my leaving the lighting switch on, in the headlight position and switching the engine off - the headlights turned themselves off after a few seconds, leaving the parking lights still on.
