Cdti exhaust
The dreaded flexi is starting to blow
Question is, can I just replace the flexi (and poss. the cat) as a DIY exercise or do I need "expert" help? |

If you're confident in your DIY skills and you have the Haynes manual and suitable tools, have a go. Probably getting to the top nuts/bolts will cause most problems/scuffed knuckles.
I'm sure others here will be able to give you some tips from their own experience.

If you are planning any modifications in the future then why not try this http://tuning-diesels.com/75Zt/R75decat.htm
Looks like it's a worthwhile exercise. I may even try it myself next year some time.

Finally had a quote from Longlife, after long discussion on the phone I am having a complete exhaust fitted (minus cat) for £428 inc.

I'm puzzled. I had my exhaust off a couple of weeks back and it is a single unit from the elbow out of the turbo to the tailpipe. I cannot see how the exhaust could be replaced without changing the cat because it is welded in.
Dragging you heels and having a tea beak in between you would be struggling to take two hours to change it. Over 400 notes seems a tad salty to me. |
