Default 225/40?/18

Hi all,

not posted for a while, hope you all had a great xmas and wish you all a happy new year.

I need new tyres for my zt 135 cdti.
I have seen a great deal on 225/40/18's. I appologise for asking this as I know this has been asked before. I have had a good look and can't seem to find the thread.
What difference will the 40 v's the 45 make. If it is ust a comfort issue I am not too bothered. Is there any other raon not to fit 40's
Oh, and I am aware of insurance issues fitting non OE tyres,

Thanks all.

I have Michelin Pilot 255/40/18's on my car, 255/40 have almost the same rolling radius as the standard 225/45 tyres +0.2%

they fit very well, and I honestly think make the car more stable, told the insurance company, they were not interested

255s will not fit a non v8 model (at the rear definately) and will foul the front arches on full lock at the front.

Are you sure they are not 235s? 235/40 R18 has an insignificant difference to 225/45.
