HI Jon. The mount you took off was it an original with the letter T stamped on it? if so do you know how long it as been on there, ie since you owned the car how long. Did you check it by adding a bar through the centre to see if there were any cracks splits in the rubber.

It had the letter T on the side plus the inner nylon sleeve for the larger of the two bolts. Again as new. I've owned the car for 13 of its 16 years. It had 17,000 on the clock when I bought it. I took lots of photos the underside of the car's suspension parts to look at later on a large screen tele. Unfortunately I would have to pay a fee for the privilege of posting them on here.-- |

Hello Colvert, you can use this free site to host images - https://imgbb.com/
It's not as 'slick' as Photobucket, but none of the annoying watermarks.

Whilst doing an oil change this month, engine under cover off, I took the opportunity to remove my Mondeo mount that I fitted around 5 - 6 years ago, to check it. Its absolutely fine, no splits at all, so just put it back.

Well I did my oil change today and while I was under the car removed the mount checked it and all seemed the same as when I fitted it in November 2018, I refitted it to give it another 6 months and will revisit at my next oil change.

I have bought item from welovemg, in the past and will most likely in the future I was just pointing out it is not wise to purchase diesel mounts that have been used unless it as only been one for a couple of months, easy for me to spot I have that many I see them in my sleep
The Mondeo & jag mounts are only really any good on a diesel it the bracket as been modified too, as it catches on the bracket and sends vibration through the floor. I touched upon this a while back link below. https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...&postcount=192

Hi Andy.
Further to my previous post where I said I found the existing tie clean and in perfect condition. Have you ever had a dual mass flywheel stop working ?? ie. Springs broken. I still get this take-up on the drive as I let up the clutch. Identical to that of a worn out lower mount. To check the lower mount for movement when I re-installed it I put the car in 2nd gear with the brakes off and rocked it as hard as I could backwards and forwards. There was no rocking movement of the engine at all. Also no movement in the lower mount.-- Can't figure out what is moving except for play in the flywheel. Any help gratefully received. Amazing fact but-----I have only asked for help less than a handful of time in my ten years on the forum.--- |
